An overview of Scotland’s fast developing, end to end space sector and its role in supporting the wider UK proposition. Andy will discuss Scotland’s strengths e.g. in research and innovation, in deep space missions, and in the downstream sector, and outline the exciting opportunities that a thriving newspace sector is addressing. Scotland’s strategic objectives around space sustainability and inclusivity will be highlighted, along with the significance of recent launch activity when combined with an ecosystem that already boasts both a thriving downstream EO segment that underpins multiple adjacent sectors and European leadership in small satellite manufacture. Finally, Andy will review some lessons learned and look to the future, sharing the challenges faced by Scotland’s 180+ SMEs and Space Scotland’s role in supporting the ecosystem.
