20 years ago there was almost a complete absence of a space industry in Scotland – world leading research but no commercial activity. Today, Scotland is the envy of global space sector due to its fast-paced growth and end-to-end capability – in fact, Scotland not only provides launch to space-based services, Glasgow makes more satellites than any other location in Europe. The reasons for this journey from nothing to one of the most recognised countries for space in the World is simple: Innovation to meet a commercial demand. This is the story about Scotland’s space journey up until now and its future potential.
